Society of Mary
The Society of Mary was born with the end of responding to the call of Pope John Paul II for a “new evangelization.” We proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom to those who know Jesus only through hearing of him, but have never known him through faith and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our Society is consecrated and dedicated to the Most Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, and for this reason we choose as our name “Society of Mary,” because we associate our life and apostolic work with the ministry of the Mother of God in the communion of the Church. “Mary is the one who, from her immaculate conception, reflects most perfectly the divine beauty. “All beautiful” is the title with which the Church invokes her. The relationship that all the faithful, as a consecuence of her union with Christ, maintain with Most Holy Mary remains even more accentuated in the life of consecrated persons.”The Society of Mary is united to the Saint John Society through its origin, through the same shared message, and through the complementary nature of the common mission received. In this way, we want to be a clear sign of the love of God that unites men and women. “Therefore, there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is not male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Gal 3:28
As Missionaries of the “new evangelization,” and inspired by the women that followed Christ in his public life, we seek to configure ourselves to Him in his missionary zeal, in his merciful love, and in his prayerful intercesión for all people.
Our mission is to proclaim Christ with the faith of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, of Mary Magdalene, St. Teresa of Jesus and St. Therese, with the faith of Agnes, Cecilia and Anastasia, of Peter and Paul, of Athanasius and of St. Paula, of St. Monica and St. Claire, of Mother Cabrini and of all the People of God, because God wants to give the gift of faith through mediation of the Church in each one of us.
